Wood |
|||||||
A bird carved by Bill Chrisman demands to be held. One may know the bird is made from wood and still have to touch it to make sure its feathers are not real. Attention to detail of each bird and delicate touch with paints results in a remarkably realistic bird.

The magical qualities of light passing through the shapes and layers of colors has drawn me to fused glass. My work is both functional and decorative. It includes vases, bowls, platters, plant picks and ornaments in varying shapes and sizes. I am drawn to bright, vibrant colors. The most common comment I hear about my work is that piece makes me smile. That makes me smile!

Fiber |
|||||||
My fascination with fibers began in the mid-90s after I attended the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. An interest in the use of colors has grown from attending fiber events and weaving workshops, and from involvement with weaving guilds. I primarily weave functional items: towels, table linens, scarves, stoles, and baby blankets. Every aspect of our lives can be enhanced with fiber, color, and texture...it warms the home and the heart.

Art has always been a way for me to connect with nature, and this has never been more evident than in my nature collages. Bark from a fallen tree, twigs, grasses, and pressed leaves all serve to enhance my paintings of birds, butterflies, and wildflowers. I am grateful to find all of this right in my own backyard and in the woods I love to explore. Each piece is lovingly and meticulously crafted and made to endure for many years.
