I mostly paint realistic landscapes (and other subjects), 90% in watercolors and 10% in oils. I usually work “plein air”, and try to be true to both the scene presented and my personal reactions to said scene. I've been doing this since 1980, and thus have hundreds of paintings available. I paint because it's an amazing world out there, full of wondrous things, if we'd only stop and notice.

George Brooks Wood Art Wood

I started drawing in the 3rd grade. Now at 73, I have experimented with many Art forms. I specialize in shaping wood. While living on Emerald Isle, in NC, I sketched many shore birds, fish, dolphins, etc. I then shaped the wood for my patterns from those drawings. My art work is in several galleries in NC and VA. I make over 850 items from 5” to 5' tall. Prices range from $10 to $3,000. I also make one of a kind walking sticks and canes. New items are eagles, deer, horses, bear and buffalo.

I weave customized purses using one's own neckties (a husband, father, grandfather) and family jewelry - woven as the individual wants it. I also sell purses that I have made if you don't want a custom purse. My purses coming in 2 sizes - 6" x 7" or 10" x 6". The purses are fully lined, with cord strap and have jewelry embellishments.

Lora Mahaffey CackleAndHoot Mixed Media

I’m an artist, baker and collector of interesting junk and sparkly stuff that I take home, mess around with and turn into other stuff. I like to make tiny things just because they please me. I also make jewelry, draw and I love paper, polymer clay, paint and fussy details. Ornamenting objects is a wee obsession, as are books, typeface, the Dark Ages (not all that dark), the Renaissance, the Pre-Raphaelites, as well as lots of individual artists, both contemporary and long gone.
I live in the foothills of the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, in a big old friendly house with a great husband and our two fuzzy monsters.

Making traditional quilts with modern methods from a combination of new and recycled fabrics, I call my style "Utility Chic". These quilts are meant to be used on a bed, snuggled under in a recliner, thrown in the washer and dryer, enjoyed and admired for decades. All cotton. Machine pieced and machine quilted on a domestic sewing machine. Contact me to have a quilt custom made.
