I started drawing in the 3rd grade. Now at 73, I have experimented with many Art forms. I specialize in shaping wood. While living on Emerald Isle, in NC, I sketched many shore birds,fish,dolphins,etc. I then shaped the wood for my patterns from those drawings. My art work is in several galleries in NC and VA. I make over 850 items from 5” to 5' tall. Prices range from $10 to $3,000. I also make one of a kind walking sticks and canes. New items are eagles, deer, horses, bear and buffalo. Zed was born in mountains southwest virginia.Being the youngestboy of ten children things were hard back then. Zed was interested in art at a very young age but could not afford art supplies so he made do with what ever was at hand ,with this over the years he has developed a very unique style . He takes something that nobody else wants and turn it into a beautiful piece of art work, Being creative that is what it is all about. Zed does different subjects,some of his favorites are Native American because they lived in harmony with the earth.Zed's trys to adopt that philosphy in his own life,mountain men are among his favorite subjects. Zed says he considers himself kind of a modern day mountain man, he paints & carvas all winter, and then travels to the big city to sell his art work come spring. Zed has collectors through the United States and some foreign countries and has won many awards.
