My inspirations come from the mountainous landscape that surrounds my home. Tree images frequently appear in my work. I have been hiking sections of the Appalachian Trail and my hiking journals, poems and sketches provide inspiration for drawings, prints, and ceramic pieces.
I am Professor of Art at Bluefield College where I have been teaching for 21 years. I work in several mediums but ceramics is my first love.
