I write books about the culture of Appalachia. I have one book for children, a series that is historical fiction, a book on a little understood religion in the mountains, and am presently finishing a book about the lingering effects of childhood abuse. My style is loose and fairly impressionistic-- I use a lot of color and contrast between light and dark areas.

I create photos which are printed on mounted canvas and then painted by hand with oil paint. I use both digital and darkroom techniques. I use Photoshop extensively to create panoramas, digital collages, and infared effects. My favorite subject is southwest Virginia. I love landscapes. I also work with color photography and do watercolors.
Before retirement, I taught art and photography at New River Community College and I am happy to give out free art and photo advice.

I live and work in the beautiful mountains of Southwest Virginia. I draw inspiration from my daily surroundings, whether they are beautiful riverside views or objects around the house. I create with several mediums, but focus primarily in watercolor painting and drawing. I currently teach drawing and watercolor for Concord University in WV and offer workshops in Southwest Virginia. Hi! I'm Alana, and I run an online business called Laces By Alana Tatter. Tatting is an old-fashioned way of making lace with knots. This particular type of lacemaking is not very common today despite being quite popular in the Victorian era. Inspiration for my tatted lace jewelry and accessories comes from vintage styles, music, movies, and books! I am part owner of a flock of Shetland sheep as well, so you can imagine how difficult it is for me to decide what project to do first!

I hand paint miniatures of birds, animals and plants on bone, antler and synthetic materials. These are then set in sterling silver as pins and pendants. Often the jewelry pieces open and have a Biblical inscription inside that relates to the subject of the piece. I hope to communicate the intricacies of Nature and the amazing way that each part is a reflection of the Creator.

Located here in beautiful Southwest Virginia, I operate Amy Lynn's Attic from the attic workshop in my home. I create one-of-a-kind hand-stamped/painted cards, altered boxes, ornaments, and numerous country crafts that are unique and charming. I also am a calligrapher, and do hand made invitations and other special cards.
I specialize in paper keepsakes with a focus on family heritage, faith and memory preservation. My cards, gifts, and other keepsakes are available at several local Round the Mountain Craft Venues in the region. Little River Designs is located 3 miles from downtown Floyd at the Little River Bed and Breakfast. I work primarily with silver, semi-precious stones and pearls to create contemporary jewelry. I make stoneware wheel-thrown and hand-built pottery designed to be used in the kitchen, at the table and in the garden. Nature provides the inspiration for much of my work.

My one-of-a-kind pieces begin in the form of precious metal clay and are sculpted, carved and manipulated to form a unique piece of wearable art. Using traditional metalsmithing techniques, I make many of the chains and findings. All stones and glass are selected for their unique value and quality.

Bimbur Books & Design is an eco-forward design studio featuring handmade books and journals made from reclaimed, salvaged and repurposed vintage books based in Blacksburg, Virginia

I am a traditional blacksmith. I do not use chemicals (i.e. Tig, Oxy-Ac welding). I do all my welding on the forge or mechanically rivet items as required. I learned my craft as one of the Blacksmiths at Mabry Mill on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

I produce museum-quality 18th-century knives, rifles, tools, and powder horns.

Blake has been carving for well over 5 years and is an award winning wood carver. He has been published in the special edition of Woodcarving Illustrated Magazine Hand Carved Holiday Gifts Volume Two, and has also won Best of Show in the Tom Wolfe category at the Charlotte Woodcarver's Showcase 2010 in Charlotte, North Carolina. All of his wood carvings are hand carved out of bass wood and finished with an acrylic wash.
