Wilderness Road Artisan Trail
The Wilderness Road Artisan Trail winds its way through Scott and Lee Counties marking heritage artisan studios, craft galleries and resting points. The local farmers’ market brings you the best the season has to offer and at local farms you can visit a pumpkin patch, and enjoy a hay ride or corn maze. Or maybe you would like to take part in old fashioned molasses “stir-off” or buy some homemade honey. Stop by the region’s last operational gristmill still producing corn mill that is sold locally. Visit green houses full of perennials and heirloom variety bedding plants. Enjoy one of the many walking, hiking, biking and horseback trails drawing you into the natural beauty of the area. Regional galleries and gift shops feature paintings, pottery, woodworking, fiber, jewelry, quilts, stained glass, and photography. Classes, festivals, and demonstrations are held throughout the year. Mountain music at local venues brings folks together to sing, dance and rejoice in the pioneer heritage that thrives in the hollows of along the Trail.
